In conjunction with World Environment Day 2026, Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) hosted the programme “Cultivating Sustainability Through Volunteering & Community Action” at PARC, Subang Jaya. As one of the supporting partners, the UKM-YSD Chair for Sustainability was invited to participate by setting up an exhibition booth and conducting sustainability-related engagement activities for participants throughout the event.

The programme was officiated by YB Tuan Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, who visited the UKM-YSD Chair for Sustainability booth and engaged with representatives on ongoing initiatives related to climate action, sustainability awareness, and community engagement.

Also in attendance were Dr. Hajah Yatela Zainal Abidin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD); YBhg. Puan Sri Normah Hashim, Member of the Yayasan Sime Darby Board of Governors; YBrs. Hajah Azuri Azizah Haji Saedon, Deputy Director-General (Development), Department of Environment; senior officials from the Ministry and Sime Darby, as well as representatives from government agencies, community organisations, and strategic partners.

The event served as a valuable platform to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders in promoting environmental stewardship, sustainability education, and community-driven climate action initiatives.
