The national greenhouse gases (GHG) emission inventory was published by the Ministry of Environment and Water Malaysia (KASA) in the Malaysia Third Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC. The emission mostly shows steady and sharp rise in the amount of GHG emissions except the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the sectors of Agriculture & Land Use. The emissions of CO2 peaked in 2015 from the Energy sectors (23335.28 Gg). Besides, energy sectors also emitted the highest emission of Nitrous Oxides (N2O) as recorded in the year of 2006 (1995.99 Gg). The highest emissions of N2O is recorded in the year of 2014 (20.58 Gg) from Agriculture & Land Use sector. Industry sector emitted the highest amount of Perfluorocarbon (PCF) in 2016 (4976.28 Gg).
