“Save nature, save the future”
Prof Nizam is the senior advisor MyIKLIM database. He oversees the development of the database, with his vast experience in the field of climate change. He is currently the leader of the Climate Change Mitigation thrust under the UKM-YSD Chair for Sustainability.
Prof Nizam is currently is a Professor of Forest Ecology at the Department of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; and the Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Climate Change UKM. He specializes in Tropical Forest Ecology, and his research interests are on impacts of climate change on forest ecosystems, focusing on the effects of elevated CO2 concentrations on the tropical forest ecosystem, habitat specialization of tropical forest vegetation, biodiversity, conservation and management of tropical forests. His current interests are on Climate Change Education, and Education for Sustainable Development.
Lead Developer
“Open science for all”
Maggie is the lead developer of the MyIKLIM database. She believes open science for climate change field helps in the research and public community to move forward quicker, in terms of awareness, action, mitigation and adaptation.
Currently, Maggie works as Research Fellow at the Institute of Climate Change, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She has ventured into air quality modelling using chemical weather prediction model in an attempt to solve the urban and haze pollution issue that has been bothering Malaysia.
Lead Technical
“Big data, make it simple”
Wee, PhD. is interested in identifying and addressing underlying patterns of big data in a simplified and readily understandable manner.
A trained Marine Biologist, he specializes in ecology of coral reef-associated organisms in face of climate change. Wee is active in assisting governmental and research institutes in managing, organizing, and presenting data in interactive manners. He has experience in managing data from across the world, especially in observing the climate and environmental changes that threatens marine organisms and determine adaptation cues.
In MyIKLIM database, he oversees the presentation of contributed datasets.

“Mitigation through Projection”
Juneng has nearly two decades of experience in projecting the future climate and changes in Southeast Asia region. Through the MyIKLIM database project, he wishes to transfer the future projection of climate in a readily available and understandable manner for public access.
He is currently an associate professor in Department of Earth Science and Environment, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He has worked closely with various agencies in Malaysia and actively participating in regional research collaborative work. Together with colleagues from Southeast Asia and other international agencies, they run regional climate models to provide high resolution projections of future Southeast Asia climate for various regional users as well as IPCC’s assessment.
