Phytoplankton is a fish source of food and detecting chlorophyll-a which is found in the phytoplankton can determine the fish habitat and fishing ground. In this study, a 4-km NASA MODIS product, Aqua Level 3 (L3) Standard Map Image (SMI) Chl-a concentration obtained between January 2010 and June 2020 were used to derive the raster chlorophyll.
Chlorophyll-a concentration from year 2010 to 2020, range from 0.09mg/m³ to 8.99mg/m³, which mean source of fish food was plenty in the study area.
The NASA Level 3 monthly Chlorophyll-a concentration Terra/Aqua-Modis data with resolution 4 km is extracted and downloaded from: https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/l3/order/
The mapped type data is then converted into raster NetCDF and tiff/img format using Erdas/ ArcGIS software.
